The Reason We Celebrate
The Fourth of July…
The real reason we celebrate America - It's not the food, the parades, or the fireworks, or the BEACH MUSIC - although that is a tradition on the Fourth.
On this day we remember names like Washington, Adams, Jefferson, and Franklin. We honor their courage and we honor their vision. We're thankful that this nation they created 233 years ago remains free and independent, and the best hope for all mankind.
The fourth of July is the day we gather with our friends and family and give thanks to the United States of America, our HOME;
and give thanks to the fact that we are citizens in a free land.
I was in one of my favorite grocery stores last week. A German lady was working in the bakery, and we struck up a conversation. When I asked her if she missed her home, she said that she DID miss her friends and her neighborhood. Then she told me that the economy and the whole way of life in her country was not very encouraging. There are not many chances for the young people there to get a good job, much less a career. She ended by saying that we in the USA do not completely understand what we have here.
Thank God for our freedoms. They are not to be taken lightly.
As said by President Bush: “This history we celebrate today is a testament to the power of freedom to lift up a whole nation. And we still believe, on America's 233rd birthday, that freedom has the power to change the world.”
I am proud of our forefathers – I am proud of America!
May God bless you.

A note from Carly’s Corner…
4th of July is a great time to watch the
fireworks explode in the night sky.
You can sit under a tree or look out the window and watch the yellow, red, white and blue
fire works.
But on this day it is different, the guys in the band have to work.
They start to miss their family. So, please thank them for everything that they have done to entertain you.
There is one more thing that is very important to my dad, my mom, my brother and me.
It is the night that their marriage came to life 26 years ago!
They can’t see the fireworks in the night sky or enjoy a picnic;
what do they do?
Work.
Mom will start to clap her hands, she is proud of my Dad.
Maybe after they work they can enjoy themselves.
